Get Back on Your Fibromyalgia Program
Question: I have fibromyalgia. While I usually take good care of myself (watch my diet, take supplements, do mind-body exercises), I fell off my program during the holidays. Now I'm experiencing terrible pain and muscle spasms. What can I do to return my health to where it was before?
Answer: Unfortunately, your problem is a common one. When you take care of yourself, you get used to feeling good. If you fall back into habits that aggravate your illness, the effects are easily noticeable.
My suggestion is to take a weekend and detoxify. Start by taking pineapple juice with a longevity green drink, as described in The Pain Cure. Also take something to increase your elimination, such as aloe vera. Stay home, do yoga and meditation and sleep as much as possible. Be careful with massage because at this stage it can actually exacerbate your symptoms. Always drink at least 2,000 ml of fluid a day -- the equivalent of three small sports bottles of pure water. You'll start to detoxify your body and eliminate the poisons in your joints and tissues.
After three days of drinking the pineapple juice and pure water, slowly add a good diet such as mung beans, rice and steamed vegetables. This will make you feel absolutely fantastic.
