Bones, Muscles, and Joints: What to Expect in Your 40s
Although you may begin to lose muscle and bone mass in your 40s, you can dramatically offset these losses by engaging in even moderate daily exercise and eating a healthy diet--one that is rich in calcium-bearing foods such as canned salmon with bones, broccoli, tofu, beans, low-fat yogurt, and low-fat milk. While ligaments and tendons do become less elastic with age, faithfully doing regular stretching exercises or yoga will help keep you strong and supple.
