Less Intense Orgasms
Why It's Happening:
It's normal for men to experience a less intense feeling of orgasmic inevitability prior to ejaculation. "We don't know why this occurs," says Drogo Montague, M.D., director of the Center for Sexual Function at the Cleveland Clinic Urological Institute, "and there's no treatment for it."
What You Can Do:
Although it's common for orgasms to feel less intense in midlife, sex can still feel wildly passionate and emotionally intense. "The mind is still the biggest and certainly the most important sexual organ for men," notes Art Hister, M.D., author of Midlife Man (Greystone Books, 1999).
While there may be no medical treatment for less intense orgasms, some midlife men (and women) report that practicing Tantric sex helps strengthen the physical charge of orgasm as well as emotional intimacy. Take the Tantric sex quiz to learn more about Tantric sensuality.
