Anyone Tried Weight Watcher's Point system?
Anyone Tried Weight Watcher's Point system?
I'm thinking about going back to Weight Watchers (again!), but it's been quite a while. They have some sort of points system now, but I'm not real keen on doing a lot of math every time I have something to eat.
Has anyone done the WW points system? Is it quick and easy or a pain in the butt?

Don't be afraid of WW
Yes, I'm a Lifetime member. I believe it's the safest, most effective system around. It's not a "quick fix" but rather a lifestyle change so that you have the tools to keep the weight off once you've lost it. It doesn't do any good to lose it if you gain it back next month.
Don't be afraid of the points system, it's very easy. If I can do it, you can too!
Good luck
Points System is Easy
I went and have the book and sliding counter and have been keeping track on my own since the meetings are so far away. I know I'd lose quicker if I could join in person, but I'm doing alright on my own.
The Points System is so much easier than before! You should try it.
Weight Watchers Point System
Yes I have and in 5 months I lost 25 lbs. It is a wonderful program, it is very easy in the summer months as the fruit and veges are so plentiful and so low in points, The more that you weigh, the higher points you get. I give myself one day a week to eat what I want and I don't feel deprived at all. I'm restarting again Saturday.
Try Sparkpeople.com
I joined sparkpeople.com 1 year ago. It offers alot of resources including a food diary and exercise programs. I've learned to make better food choices and exercise more. In the process I've shed 40 pounds. It is a great program and best of all it is free.
Points -
It's not about if the meeting is good -- It's about learning how to make healtier choices. Choices. I have struggled with my weight (choices) for most of my adult life. What Weight Watcher's offers is a nutritional food plan that allows you to make your choices -- and learn how to eat well while loosing, and then once you real your desired weight loss, they help you learn how to maintain -- they also, suggest exercise.
The points are based on your weight and current level of exercise, etc. -- and I personally found (once I was able to actually do it) keeping a food diary made me discover things about myself that I never knew - smiles
Not to write a book -- if you are seriously interested in loosing weight -- from a stranger who is enjoying the weight watchers journey -- GIVE IT A FAIR TRY.
Point System
I think the system is great but I also think if you just cut calories/fat intake, drink plenty of water and increase your exercise you'll be fine! This has worked for me.

I did try WW but was disappointed in the person running the sessions and the importance that was put on not missing meals. By that I mean, members were bringing food from home to eat during the program. I found it disgusting having to listen to individuals who weighed 250 to 350 lbs muching while the speaker is talker about how to succeed. The point system itself was not hard, but the meetings were not positive for me.
I myself have been on WW on
I myself have been on WW on and off for years, do not go to meetings I just put myself on 20 menue points per day, sometimes I manage to eat over that limit sometimes under, just like any weight programme you have to be strict with yourself but must allow for treats, plenty of water, meetings, a no, no for me, very clicky, too many, with too much to say, cheers

Why not log into www.weightwatchers.com
There is also a little box on the right to tell you how to go to your first meeting free of charge. There you will get an introduction to WW, how it works, how to count points or use the "Core" approach
where you do not count points (calories).
I have been a lifetime member for 7 years and have maintained my weight loss. Once your reach your goal weight meetings are free.
It works for me!
weight
On this each food has so many points and you are allowed so many a day. You can loose on this if you stick to it. One thing is you have a lot of different foods not restricked to certen ones
How does it work?
I'm curious about how this system works. I've done simple calorie-counting diets in the past, which have totally worked (but I get so tired of all the counting!) How is WW different?
A friend gave me her
A friend gave me her outdated points system book. I never joined WW, but just used the book which is dead easy to follow, e.g. a slice of multi-grain bread is worth 1.5 points, and egg 1 point etc. I just aded up what i ate during the day and made sure it didn't go over the 18 points I was supposed to have, according to my body weight(140lb) If sometimes it did, i just had less the next day or so . It did work over about 12 weeks, and i lost 12 lbs.
I attend WW and it is all
I attend WW and it is all about the leader. I have lost about 26 pounds in about three months. I had been to a lot of different locations and now I am very happy. My son lost 130 pounds a few years ago. The system does work and the meeting do help. The biggest thing however is to track what you eat. Somehow when you put it on paper you tend to not overeat.
