Citrus Mahi Mahi Over Lentils and Almonds

In this video, Chef MD shows you how to make a citrus marinated mahi mahi with toasted almonds. The mahi mahi is marinated in a ginger and lime teriyaki sauce, then seared and tossed over green lentils and almonds. Wasabi and cilantro are added for a piquant flavor.

Since lentils, almonds and fish have been all found to lower bad cholesterol, this recipe also gives you a superfood kick against heart disease.

Ingredients

1 cup green lentils
2 tablespoons teriyaki sauce, such as Soy Vay brand
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
2 teaspoons wasabi paste
2 teaspoons minced pickled ginger plus 1 teaspoon of the ginger juice from jar
4 (5 to 6 oz.) mahi mahi fish fillets
2 tablespoons sliced unblanched almonds, toasted
2 tablespoons chopped cilantro
Crystallized ginger (optional)
