Lois Wyse: biography
Lois Wyse, ThirdAge's Family Insider, has written more than 60 books on home life, marriage, motherhood, cooking, friendship, and business. Her book on contemporary grandparenting, Funny, You Don't Look Like a Grandmother, was number one on both the New York Times and Publisher's Weekly best-seller lists. Her most recent book, Just Like Grandma Used to Make, is a collection of kitchen favorites harvested from the recipe files of many families.
Wyse's articles have appeared in major American women's publications, and for the past 15 years she has been a contributing editor of Good Housekeeping magazine. Her syndicated advice column, Wyse Words, appears in newspapers throughout the United States.
Much of Wyse's inspiration comes from her combined family--the two children born to her and the children of her late husband, and their nine grandchildren, who range in age from 7 to 16. Her granddaughter, Molly Rose Goldman, 10, who lives in New York City, is co-authoring How to Take Your Grandmother to the Natural History Museum with her grandmother. The publication of this book will mark the third generation of published authors in the family.
Wyse is also the president and creative director of Wyse Advertising and a partner in City & Company, a publishing company specializing in books about New York City, where she lives.
