WHAT HELPS

After a recent month long flare up of IBS, I've found two treatments that helped relieve my symptoms. One is Omnigest, OTC tablets , comprised of digestive enzymes. The other, Cholestyramine, an oral suspension powder prescribed by my doctor, is taken twice a day in a small amount of juice or water. My digestive system is now back to normal, but I continue to monitor my diet, eliminating foods and liquids that cause problems. There are more flax seed products such as frozen waffles, as well as a lactose-free ice cream by Breyers and a multitude of soy products. Thanks to these new foods, I find it much easier to manage my IBS now. As for my recent bout, it was due to an excess of the no-nos' during a week long visit by an long time friend. I've learned my lesson the hard way!
