Vomeronasal Organ: Inhale, and I'll Tickle Your Vomero!

Who would've thought that a pair of tiny slits in the floor or your nasal passages could turn out to be so important! But researchers have uncovered a separate pathway to our emotionally-centric hypothalamus, parallel to the olfactory pathways, which probably carries nothing more than our "scents" of each other. These scents are called pheromones, says Michelle Kodis in her new book, Love Scents, based on this research. The fact that it's located just above our kiss organ could only be the most wonderful work of nature. It seems we inhale tiny odor molecules which are processed as pheromones once they contact our vomeronasal organ.
