A sexual fetish is getting sexual excitement primarily--or even exclusively--from a particular inanimate object or body part that becomes the fetishist's center of erotic interest.
According to Sex, A Man's Guide by Stefan Bechtel and Laurence Roy Stains (Rodale Press, 1996), fetishes can focus on a body part (such as feet), the sensation of a certain material (such as leather or silk), a smell (like body odor or a perfume), or almost anything else.
