British men make good husband material because they share the housework, a survey has claimed.
The study said women are more likely to settle down if their partner helps out with chores.
British and American men do more than those in other countries, including France, Italy and Australia.
Aussie men were the least likely to help.
Dr Almudena SevillaSanz, study author, said: "When people decide to get married, they want their partner to chip in a bit.
"In that sense, British men are better marriage material than many others."
The Oxford team quizzed 13,500 men and women, aged between 20 and 45, in 12 countries.
