Yikes! Martha Stewart posted these photos on her blog. The domestic diva was forced to get nine stitches after she was mauled by her pet French bulldog, Francesca.
On her blog she explained how she "leaned down to whisper goodbye to a dozing Francesca" at her Westchester County, NY, home on Tuesday.
She added, "I must have startled her because she bolted upright with such force that she hit me in the face like a boxing glove hitting an opponent's face. I was entirely startled and my neck snapped back. I felt a bit of whiplash as blood gushed forth from my split lip. Frannie was as upset as I was and cowered in her bed."
She then went to an ER to get treated. "I'll be alright facially. I'm not rushing to get a facelift any time soon!" she said later.
As many of you know, the importance of stitches is paramount in helping a scar to fade, and adding an OTC ointment will help to maximize results. According to the Scar Treatment Center, the best ointments to try are those that use Silicone as their primary/active ingredient. The top five OTC creams the organization recommends are: SCARpin, Dermatrix Ultra Talsyn-CI, Zen-Me and Kelo-Cote. Before applying any cream be sure your incision has healed completely.
You hear that, Martha? Grab an over-the-counter scar treatment!
Or knowing you, you might just whip up one yourself.
