Getting to the top of the queue....

Hey, ladies, I guess I have to do this (start a new discussion) if I want my posts to get in line according to time posted.

I don't really have a topic on this one, except to say that maybe Harley is right and we should always hit "new discussion" in order get all the posts in a time-line thread.  We can always alert folks in the "Title" line if it's specific for them.  I may be all wrong on this.  I'll find out after I "submit" this one! haha

Wow! It's only 64 deg F at 2 pm today.

I've always said it's common enough in Michigan to get much cooler days during the summer and this week is our 'cool days in August' for sure. We'll do good to even hit the 67 they've predicted for today. It is muggy, however, even that isn't really bad. It does make it awkward at night for sleeping in the muggy nights though. Well shoot, that's a smaller issue to deal with and thank goodness for ac to control just how cool you do want it without the humidity, huh?

Hope the rest of you are having a decent day/week.

The doc's office went well...yay!

She got the blood draw on the first try with no pain...I love those! I'll find out tomorrow what the INR is. I did go to therapy after that and figured I did need to exercise it as best as possible. They noticed that I have a largish new bruise on the back of my upper leg (just above knee area). I hadn't done anything to it that I know of and I do get these kind of bruises super easy without pain and don't even know they're there when it's not summer and I haven't worn bermudas to therapy sessions.

Oh well, it's time to put my leg up now and get some rest. I don't plan on going anywhere tomorrow and will have my leg up most of the day.

That is sad that those frat bros don't pay more attention to that poor kitkat when Walter's gone. I hope he's able to locate her and that she's o.k. Those poor babies do go through so much.

Our precincts only issue the paper ballots and that's what gets put into the tabulator for us to track. I'm thrilled that we no longer have to separate them/physically county them/ and even have to go through that ritual. When we used to use those systems it could take us until midnight to get the job done.

We have to take a chance and try new things regularly in life,

so why not, huh? Yesterday was a particularly rough day--over 17 hour day, sheez. And it became super worse when we had to have someone stop our tabulator because the count was one off from our poll book count and we had to put 500 already votes into it while still having the regular voters putting their new votes in. It took us over 3 hours to get that done. It did help me feel better when the clerk's support people told me that several precincts were having that exact same problem because the humidity was causing many of the jamming and count problems. I didn't get home til after 11 pm (left at 5:30 am to be there by 6 am) and slept 12 hours before I got up today. I'd only had a couple of hours sleep on Monday night...but again we do what we think we need to get done, huh?

Only one more HUGE election to go through in November and then I don't have to take it on for another year...YAY!!! LOLOL

Hope all is well with you and yours. How's Walter's kitkat doing? Mine were all thrilled to see me come home last night.

Gotta go get my blood drawn today...wasn't able to work it in on Monday.

Bet you're glad Election

Bet you're glad Election Day is behind you.  You've got a lot more registered voters in your precinct than we do.  Paul voted at 6:45PM and only 171 folks had voted, but that was a paper ballot--probably at least that many used the touch screen.  I had a write-in candidate for my ballot.  Paul just doesn't trust the computers to tabulate his vote, so he always asks for a paper one.   lol

Walter's up in Minnesota with the GF--visiting her folks.  So, a couple of guys at the frat are trying to look after the cat/kitten.  They emailed him yesterday to say that they haven't seen the kitten since Walter left town Sunday.  So, he's assuming the worst for that little guy.

Hope the blood draw was smooth!

the queue....

Hey, LoisAnn, I replied about this on the com/fell, and your observations are probably exactly right. I don't think I'll be starting new discussions anymore, however.

Well Luce I guess one day we

Well Luce I guess one day we will get this thing going... I miss the old boards they were so much easier.. Maybe one day if we ever get any rain here i will try and figure this out but since this part of Texas will not be getting any rain I will just have to do it at a later time.

  Sharon, I don't

Sharon, I don't suppose you'll get any rainfall from Edouard?  We're doing OK with rainfall---had a gulley washer last week with flash flooding.  My tomatoes and canteloupes aren't complaining, though.

No we got now rain from the

No we got now rain from the storms... It is so hot and dry here it is unreal.... Oh well maybe in a couple of weeks.

You're always the tops, Luce.

I can also see that it can become awkward to answer a long line of responses to any one message over a length of time. I do believe that when we click on the 'post a reply' cue at the top of each stream though, our answers will be in line with what we're answering as opposed to when we click on that cue at the bottom of an individual's message...then it seems to go below that specific message and does indeed get out of time sequences.

Oh well, whatever works, huh? It's always good to hear from you. My knee is very achey because we are working it again and yet it does well as long as I remember to take my pain med for it...and even that is most often only half a pill periodically...thank goodness huh?

We're halfway cool here today (only at 76 deg at almost 1 pm)...hooray? I hope you're getting some cool somewhere. Has Joe returned from Alaska? I'm sure he'll have many gorgeous pix for you and stories. I did so love it there.
