Menopause has ruined my life

Menopause has ruined my life

When menopause began for me (which was hard to figure out as I'd had a hysterectomy 25 years earlier) I was taken over by hot flashes.  I tried "New Phase" for awhile and it worked pretty well on the hot flashes.  Then... I was diagnosed with sleep apnea, restless leg syndrome, and high blood pressure.  I was a healthy (albeit I have some bad habits and don't work out regularly) strong woman.  Now I'm a pill popping momma!  I need help remaking my life.

I recommended this in another thread, but you should really check out Women to Women -- it's a clinic in Maine, but you can read the articles online and its really good. I've learned so much about the changes my body is going through and how to manage things naturally. Here's the link -- Women to Women

Bio-identical Hormones

I am not a pill popper by any stretch - rarely an aspirin - but when I could not recognize my personality I went straight to a doctor who prescribes bio-identical hormones. Blood test every 4 months makes sure the dose is PERFECT for me. These guys are hard to find but WELL worth it. I go to Dr. Norton Fishman in Shady Grove MD.

Menopause

I found that in order to feel good and remain healthy in menopause, my habits had to improve dramatically. I have to exercise daily, eat only healthy foods, no comfort foods, take vitamins and work on my emotional and spiritual life daily. We can't depend on 'nature taking it's course' anymore at this age. We have to take control. Good luck.
