period after 12 months without

I know this is not uncommon, but I was wondering if it was something I needed to see my gyn about. I haven't had a period in twelve months and now I just got it. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks Sue

Okay after 9 mos... Normal or not?

Hello, everyone. After 9 mos. w/ no periods and a blood test that showed I was in menopause (so no contraceptives anymore- Hurrrah!), now I have a period- Ugh! I am age 51. I called the gyne. and she wants me to have some kind of test that's more painful than a Pap- does this seem necessary? Anyone have this experience? And what about contraception? Please, someone help me out. Thanks, Jaelle

Well I have not had a period

Well I have not had a period in over 3 years and I'm now bleeding. First day I had cramps, no more cramps but bleeding a bit more. No it is not good if you have not had a period after thi2-3 years and even its 12 months you need to call your doctor. I have a appointment on Monday

Hot flashes

Oh no, I don't want periods again. I am 51 and I haven't had a period in over a year. When do the darn hot flashes STOP??

period after 3 years!

I haven't had a period in over 3 years and suddenly got it, is that something that is common? I thought for sure that I was completely done with all of this, it came out of the blue. Should I be concerned?

I haven't had a period in 2  years and it started again.

This is quite scary.

Does this mean I am at risk of possibly being able to get pregnant ???

I just turned 50.

This is so bizarre! I think it's our bodies - not wanting to turn 50 - or - because 50 is the new 30! LOL! Either way this stinks - cramps - and all. Now I get to buy wrinkle cream, acne medication, AND tampons! whoopie! FUN TIMES! Happy Birthday.

Ellen, I had to laugh when I read your post especially about the acne medication. I have had a time with acne and in places on my face where I had NEVER had acne before. Yeah for those FUN TIMES!!!! ACK!

I think that is very normal

I think that is very normal and wouldn't worry about it unless there was an unusual amount of bleeding. It is a bummer to have to start counting over again!

Kat, I agree about the counting over part. I was so sure I was done, then bam cramps, headache and now the counting begins again. I hate that damn counting. LOL. Thanks  Susan
