Surgical Menopause

Hello,
I had a total abdominal hysterectomy on 9/11/08. I am still in the process of healing but was told that I will be in immediate menopause. I am looking at the different types of Estrogen Replacement Therapy and applications. Any thoughts? I am having a hard time figuring out the safest methodology and this was very unexpected. I am 43 years old. Thanks so much,
