Prostate Screenings?

I'm 38 years old. My 68-year-old father was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer. I hate going to doctor, but do I need to make an appointment for a prostate cancer screening now? My father is 30 years older than me, and I've read that prostate cancer in men younger than 40 years old is rare.
