When Susan Boyle walked on stage for the semi-final of Britain's Got Talent, Sunday night, there were no laughs from the audience or smirks at the judge's table. The 47-year-old Scottish singer had already proven to the world that she deserved their attention. One month and 100 million You Tube viewings after news of her sensational audition provided a welcome respite from the global economic crisis, she was back to perform. For her second act, she looked more polished and better coiffed, but now she carried the weight of the world's expectations, and for a few seconds, it seemed to affect her singing. But after missing that note she didn't skip a beat in her rendition of Memories from the musical Cats, and once again, her talent moved the audience and judges out of their seats for a standing ovation. The viewers at home obviously concurred, and voted her on to the final, which will air on May 30th. Stay tuned.

Good for her. You're never too old (or too frumpy) to reach your goals, right?

Susan Boyle has a special sound that touches people in their hearts and souls. Purely beautiful. What took so long for the world to hear this lovely voice? What dummies passed over her demo cd a while back? I imagine there are many of us 'waiting in line' for her first release.
