50 Cent, famous for his hardcore rapping and inner-city upbringing, planning to adopt a South African Black Rhino that was shot nine times by poachers this year. 50 Cent himself famously also survived being shot nine times. The rhino is currently named Phila and has endured two poaching attacks. Phila, who may have a name change once legally adopted by 50 Cent, currently lives on a private farm. Discovery News reports that South Africa has seen a spike in poaching incidents this year: 227 rhinos were killed in 2010, almost double last year's 122.eBlockwatch, a community policing group, has requested that 50 Cent sponsor Phila's recovery. Organization founder Andre Snyman said: "We want to ask him if he wants to become the godfather of our rhino so that he can create awareness worldwide about rhino poaching."
