A Dutch woman who made 65,000 calls to her boyfriend in the past year has been charged with stalking after he filed a complaint, prosecutors said Thursday.
The 62-year-old recipient of the calls, who filed a complaint in The Hague in August, denied being in a relationship with the woman. Police ordered her not to contact him again.
Police arrested the 42-year-old woman Monday in Rotterdam on charges of stalking, and seized cell phones and computers from her home. The Hague prosecution spokeswoman Nicolette Stoel said the woman argued at a preliminary hearing that the number of calls she placed wasn't excessive, and that the couple had a relationship, CBS reported.
"Early Show" co-anchor Jeff Glor reported the alleged stalker called the man 1,250 times a week, 178 times a day or about once every eight minutes.
