Grammy-award winning singer Alicia Keys gave birth to a baby boy last night at New Yorks St Lukes Roosevelt Hospital , according to reports.
Keys husband, record producer Swizz Beatz (whose real name is Kasseem Dean), was by her side as they welcomed their new son Egypt Dauode Dean.
The couple, who have been together since fall 2008, married this summer in a ceremony presided over by their friend Dr. Deepak Chopra.
Keys had been spotted the previous day out and about in New Yorks Soho neighborhood.
Their son marks the third child for Beatz (he has two songs from previous relationships) and the first for Keys.
Keys last studio album, The Element of Freedom, has sold over a million copies. The singer was also ranked as top R&B recording artist of the 2000-2009 decade by Billboard magazine.
