Amazon Kindle Available In-Store at Various Retailers Beginning Fall

Amazon Kindle e-readers will be sold in Best Buy stores starting this fall, facing competition from Barnes and Nobles Nook e-reader, which is partnered with Best Buy Co., The Wall Street Journal reported.E-readers, while they are still a niche product, are gaining wide attention. Based on estimates by Forrester Research, about 11 million Americans will own at least one digital reading tool by the end of the month, the Journal said.The Amazon Kindle, with built-in Wi-Fi, and the Kindle 3G will be available in retailers such as Best Buy, Staples Inc., and Target Corp. A newer model, the Kindle Dx, will be added later.According to PCMag.com, it was Staples that was the first national retailer to carry the Kindle in its stores. Previously, the Kindle was only available online at Amazon.com.
