Anna Kournikova Makes Debut As Personal Trainer On "Biggest Loser"

Former tennis star Anna Kournikova made her debut as the new personal trainer of NBC's "The Biggest Loser" on the Season 12 premiere Tuesday night.

She replaces Jullian Michaels, who left the weight-loss competition series to focus on motherhood, according to OnTheRedCarpet.com.

Executive Producer Todd Lubin tells Vulture that this season viewers will see the show "getting slightly away from just the tape measure, and getting into overall well being and health."

Kournikova, who made a previous appearance on "Biggest Loser" in October 2010, says she is a longtime fan of the show.

"I've been a fan of 'The Biggest Loser' for quite some time," she says, as reported by the Los Angeles Times. "It's so inspiring and I love how its message is about changing people's lives and helping them to lead a healthy lifestyle."

But her first episode as a trainer didn't go well; she and her team came in last for the night with only 43 pounds lost for the week, OTRC reports.

Kournikova isn't letting the initial setback bring her down, according to the Los Angeles Times.

"This is beyond my dream job," she says.
