St. John's Wort, Echinacea and Ginkgo Biloba are now among the 10 most popular dietary supplements sold nationwide, an industry study says.
A consumer tracking report by NBTY Inc. of the latest American spending habits on vitamins, minerals, herbs and nutritional supplements says vitamin E tops the list of consumer preferences nationwide, followed by vitamin C with rose hips, St. John's Wort, calcium/magnesium chelate and Echinacea.
Ultra lecithin, zinc, E complex vitamins, ginkgo biloba and cranberry caps are next in popularity, says the survey of Vitamin World, Puritan's Pride catalogs and Nature's Bounty products sales reports. NTY Inc. owns those retail outlets.
Knocked out of the top 10 product list since a report in October of last year were selenium, chromium picolinate and vitamin E oil.
