Certain exercises can enhance your sexual pleasure. So start right now to get in shape for better loving.
People who are in good physical condition tend to enjoy better sexual functioning, notes Los Angeles, Calif., sexologist Marilyn Lawrence, Ph.D., executive director of the American College of Sexology. "Even walking 30 minutes a day can help you raise your energy level and give you more energy for good sex."
A stretched and limber body can make men and women better lovers. In the evening, spend a few minutes loosening up the lower back and hamstring muscles by bending at the waist and trying to touch your toes.
"When muscles are stretched repeatedly, they become more flexible," notes Art Brownstein, M.D., writing in "Healing Back Pain Naturally" (Harbor Press, $19.95). "This usually increases the range of motion of the joint to which they are attached," adds Brownstein, a Clinical Instructor of Medicine at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
Just as being limber can enhance your sex life, strong stomach muscles and a strong back can help promote endurance and protect you from untimely injuries. "Leg lifts will help you build muscles where you need them, in your back and in your middle," says Los Angeles, Calif., personal trainer Andrew Wells. You can do them lying flat on your back in bed.
Finally, warm up your body and relax your muscles by taking a bath or shower. "Feel how much you cherish your loved one as you give them a loving bath," says Doe Gentry, a Tantric educator and producer and correspondent of "Single in L.A.," a cable television show. "Bathing together before lovemaking can be a loving, erotic meditation that gives you peace and pleasure."
