Make Time for Tenderness

Spend more time with your lover and you'll build intimacy, even if you're not spending that time in a clinch. Here are ways to fortify your romance.

If You're Partnered
It's easy to schedule a date in your day planner. What's sometimes not so easy is protecting that time from other commitments. Ask friends or relatives to babysit, and volunteer to return the favor on another night. Let your boss know you have to leave on time that night, then leave your gym bag at home. This evening is just for you and your lover.

To make the evening special, cook a romantic dinner using these fiery feast ideas. Light romantic aromatherapy candles, or draw a bath with sensual scents.

If possible, meet your partner for a long lunch once a week. Talk to your boss, then plan to arrive at work earlier in the morning or leave later in the day to make up the extra time.

Does a good workout turn you on? Combine your trips to the gym. Take spinning, aerobics or yoga classes together. You'll release those endorphins and spark a new level of connectedness.

If You're Single
If you don't branch out from your regular social routine, you won't have the opportunity to meet new love interests. Skip the singles bar and start taking classes or going to local events on your own. Volunteering is another option. You can Make a Difference while meeting others who share your interests and values.
