Natural Supplement for Migraine
If you're not particularly satisfied with the current medication offered for migraine headaches, relief may be in sight. Kaiser-Permanente researchers recently began a clinical trial on a natural supplement to prevent migraines called Migra-Lieve.
Migra-Lieve contains magnesium, riboflavin and an extract of the plant, feverfew. Studies have shown these individual ingredients help prevent migraines.
The site says the clinical study will monitor patient's migraine frequency and severity over a three-month period. The study will take about one year to complete.
Dr. Alexander Mauskop, an associate professor of clinical neurology at the State University of New York and director of the New York Headache Center in New York City says he and other physicians are already prescribing Migra-Lieve for the treatment of migraines. It's available from physicians or pharmacists.
