Ashton Kutcher is said to have spent $100,000 on a car for Demi Moore in a last attempt to save their marriage.
Moore announced last week that she is divorcing Kutcher. The marriage has seemingly been shaky for months following allegations that Kutcher cheated during their sixth wedding anniversary in September.
TMZ.com reported that he decided to buy Moore a “lavish, eco-friendly gift” less than two weeks before she confirmed the end of the relationship.
“Ashton Kutcher threw a Hail Mary to save the marriage ... Ashton contacted a high-end car company, to buy a new set of wheels for Demi's birthday,” the website said. “We're told Ashton picked out a 2012 Lexus LS 600h L - and paid North of $100,000.”
Kutcher reportedly purchased the luxury hybrid car on November 9, two days before Moore’s 49th birthday.
In an interview before their relationship issues were made public, Kutcher, 33, said that problems could be solved if you made an effort.
“I think it's all about working on the relationship and making it better…when it's good,” Yahoo News quoted him as saying. “Don't wait for a problem to work on things.”
The two are believed to have tried to work through their problems using Kabbalah counseling.
