Bali Travel - Like Elizabeth Gilberts 'Eat, Pray, Love', as we grow older and our lives change, we develop a desire for adventure and a longing for something meaningful. We were inspired by Gilberts passionate story and set out to research one of the sets of her book. Indonesia.
After our children leave the nest, our houses are all fixed and redecorated, what is there left to do? Travel, of course! Indonesia is becoming one of the most traveled destinations. Europe has always been the romantic and choice of travel, but it is soon changing as Asia is being more discovered.
Indonesia is made up of 17,500 small islands; each exotic to its own. With its warm welcoming people and as one of the more popular islands, Bali is a hot spot with tourists, honey-mooners, and baby boomers alike as it has been long considered a spiritual getaway. Bali's volcanoes, lavishly untouched beaches, and evergreen jungles, alone make it a natural wonder. Its vast rice fields, exquisite ancient temples, elaborate palaces, and a legacy inherited from eight ancient kingdoms all are ingredients in labeling it as the 'Island of the Gods'.
The peaceful island is also marked with colorful traditions, which arise from an unusual yet seamless mix of Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, and animism. Bali boasts an elaborate long list of nightlife activities, night market and flea market shopping and fabulous restaurants, and most of all a few of the best hotels in the world. For most baby boomers, staying at beach resorts and indulging in spa packages may be the highlight of the trip.
