Bank of America Restores Website After Outage

Bank of America customers had trouble accessing their online and mobile banking accounts this morning, but the service has since been fixed, the company said Friday evening.

The site was either slow or inaccessible for most of the day Friday due to an IT glitch, Bank of America said.

BofA users took to Twitter to complain about the outage, prompting the Charlotte, N.C.-based bank to address the issue through its @BofA_Help account.

"We are aware of the problem and are working to get things sorted as swiftly as possible," the company tweeted.

The outage began at about 7 a.m. EST. Full service was restored by 5:15 p.m., spokeswoman Tara Murphy Burke said.

Chase Bank's online system experienced a similar outage in September.
