BCS Standings for Week 9 are in, andit was moving day for many of the teams in the top ten of the Bowl Championship Series Standings including Florida State who made a move of their own on Sunday. The Seminoles, which had the week off, moved up one spot to No. 16 in this week's standings. Earlier in the day, the 'Noles moved up in both the USA Today coaches' poll (15th) and the Harris Interactive polls (16th).Miami, who defeated North Carolina 33-10 Saturday, cracked the BCS Standings this week at No. 22. The Hurricanes also debuted in the coaches' and Harris Interactive polls at No. 22.
Despite moving up, nothing short of an Atlantic Coast Conference title for both teams, can guarantee them a spot in a BCS bowl game. But for Florida State to get to Charlotte, they must defeat N.C. State on Thursday and then beat Clemson and Maryland to claim the Atlantic Division. The same could be said for Miami, which needs to defeat Virginia, Georgia Tech, and Virginia Tech to claim the Coastal Division.
The Hokies were the only other ACC team to make it into the BCS Standings, entering this week's poll at No. 23.
While Florida continued its absence from the poll for the second week in a row, the Southeastern Conference was well represented throughout the with six entries.
