Blake Griffin could he be the man that brings the Clippers franchise to glory? The 21-year-old power forward posted the league's top score this season at 47 points in the LA team's game against the Indiana Pacers.
Griffin has received attention for his show-stopping dunks, but led basketball fans to wonder if he had any other tricks up his sleeve.
"It's cool because all I hear is, 'He can dunk and jumps high,'" Griffin said. "People question the other skills and as a basketball player, you take that personally.
Needless to say, Griffin proved critics wrong on Monday.
"We wanted to keep him from getting to the paint and just make him take tough jumpers. But he was making a lot of jump shots, so it was hard to defend him," said Danny Granger, ho scored 32 points for the Pacers.
The Clippers were coming off a victory over the LA Lakers and have won 10 of their last 14 games.
"We came in and said, 'We can't let him do that again,'" Granger said. "But we just couldn't stop him."
The Clippers play the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday at 7:30.
