Bob Uecker, the Hall of Fame radio broadcaster for the Milwaukee Brewers is heading back to work just three months after his successful heart surgery. The 75-year-old broadcaster underwent surgery April 30th to replace his aortic valve, aortic root and part of his ascending aorta.
On April 27th, he announced that he was going to miss 10-12 weeks of the 2010 season due to the heart surgery.
In addition to his Hall of Fame career in broadcasting, Uecker also pursued an acting career and landed roles in television and moves. He played the part of George Owens on the television sitcom Mr. Belvedere in the 1980s, and a prominent role in Major League, Major League II, and Major League: Back to the Minors.
The Brewers say Uecker will be back on Friday, when the Washington Nationals visit Miller Park. The popular Uecker is in his 40th season broadcasting Brewers games.
