Cloud computing, a term used to describe a system intended to simplify the way we use computers by putting relevant material on the Web as opposed to the computer, is becoming much more popular. Shared resources and other material such as software can be provided to users over the Internet in a cloud. But there are dangers in this, and hackers are looking forward to this growing phenomenon.According to Mortgage Strategy, hackers have their own conference, Def Con. The most recent even was in a Vegas casino where 100 of the worlds elite hackers were polled on the security of cloud computing. Ninety-six of them felt cloud computing would open up more opportunities for them.As more and more businesses turn to cloud computing, its important that these systems that they use for communicating and transferring data are protected. Knowing where data is stored, who can access it and where they can access it from are vital components in keeping hackers at bay.A tip would be to apply encryptions to any information sent to a third party and make sure encryptions are refreshed regularly. This will protect information from being opened if it is intercepted.
