The family of Colin Dalebroux, who died during a pipe bomb incident in Evanston, Illinois on Tuesday, revealed that he has been battling depression for the past 15 years. Dalebroux died when a pipe bomb exploded near the Nichols Middle School in an apparent suicide attempt.
The family issued the following statement and asked that their privacy be respected during this difficult time.
"We are devastated that our beloved son, Colin Dalebroux, lost his 15-year battle with depression. We know that Colin committed suicide."
Dalebroux was a 2008 graduate of Madison West High School.
The final autopsy report has not been released yet and the police department is continuing their investigation of the incident.
