Day care workers are under scrutiny after recent events call attention to their negligent and harmful behavior.Delray Beach, FloridaA 2-year-old Florida girl was found dead outside Katies Kids Learning Center in Delray Beach after the driver forgot about her after picking her up in the morning, police said. The driver had not been working long.Investigators say that Haile Brockington may have been in the van outside for as long as 6 hours. The temperature outside was in the 80s, meaning the heat in the van would have quickly reached lethal levels.According to ABC News in West Palm Beach, the day care director, driver of the van, and two other employees were subsequently fired. The day care center briefly closed, but opened up again recently after the entire staff took a course on safety procedures with Palm Beach County Health Department members were present.Denver, ColoradoMeanwhile, in Denver, Colorado, a day care worker is to appear in court on Monday, accused of sexually assaulting children, CBS News in Denver reports.Benjamin Janicki, 19, worked at the Park Hill United Methodist Church childrens center. The churchs senior pastor, Reverend John Thompson has expressed his disappointment in Janicki.This is a very devious person who was for some reason way off the marker, the reverend said.Janicki may have abused as many as 13 children, but he currently has 6 felony charges involving 3 children, according to CBS.He is currently in jail on a $650,000 bond.
