Dexter's leading man - Michael C. Hall has nearly 2 million viewers a week hooked as his titular serial killer slices and dices bad guys on Showtime's thriller Dexter (Sundays, 9 p.m.). The Golden Globe winner, 39, who is married to costar Jennifer Carpenter, 30, opens up to Us.
Q: Dexter is gory. Ever get squeamish?
Nah! If that stuff were actually real, I'd be as squeamish as anybody. But as long as I know it's fake, I'm totally fine.
Q: Is it odd that fans root for a killer?
I'm comfortable with people rooting for me because I make- pretend kill!
Q: How are you doing, healthwise?
I feel great. The Hodgkin's lymphoma is in remission. My treatment ended months ago, and my energy is back.
Q: After being on Dexter and Six Feet Under, what do you want to do next?
I'd love to do something where I never encounter a dead body!
There's little on-set PDA with Carpenter, says Hall: "We pride ourselves on being professional."
