A domestic violence fundraiser held in Chicago over the weekend raised $510,000 for victims of domestic violence — surpassing its intended goal of $475,000, ABC affiliate WLS-TV reports.

The annual event, known as "Sweet Home Chicago," was held in the Four Seasons Hotel ballroom. Children attending the event made houses out of gingerbread, gumdrops and frosting. The event also included a premier family brunch and live entertainment.

According to WLS, proceeds from the event will go to WINGS [Women In Need Growing Stronger] — an organization providing emergency shelter, support, guidance and education to homeless and abused women and children.
