The Fleet Foxes have announced the release of their highly anticipated sophomore effort, "Helplessness Blues." The LP will hit stores May 3 on Sub Pop/Bella Union Records.
The followup to the Fleet Foxes' eponymous debut was mixed and co-produced by engineer Phil Ek, who previously produced such indie acts as Built to Spill, Modest Mouse, and The Shins. The Seattle folk rockers share producing credit with Ek.
The 12-song LP was recorded at Avast Recording, Bear Creek Studios, Dreamland Studios, and Reciprocal Recording over a year, according to Billboard.
The folk outfit released the album's title track as a single available for free download on Monday, and announced tour dates for a 2011 jaunt. Tickets go on sale Feb. 4.
