Glee is ready to do that whole "Time Warp" thing again. As a Halloween treat, Fox's musical dramedy "Glee" is paying tribute to that 35-year-old kinky pop culture classic "The Rocky Horror Picture Show."Of course, no high school in the United States would all w its glee club to perform a sci-fi rock 'n' roll sex comedy about a transvestite alien named Dr. Frank-N-Furter. The adult musical was way ahead of its time and some of the world hasn't caught up yet.
Last week, three "Glee" cast members came under fire from parents groups because they were in a risque poses in GQ magazine. Dianna Agron, Lea Michele and Cory Monteith, all 20-somethings, were criticized for the sexy photos because they play high school students.
The "Rocky Horror" tribute tonight is toned down somewhat from the original that has continued to play in theaters since it debuted in 1975.
In the Tampa area, it is screened every Saturday at midnight at the Beach Theatre, 315 Corey Ave., St. Pete Beach. A troupe of actors dressed as the characters "shadow" the film in a live performance.
Look for a stampede of young folks to check it out after tonight's episode airs. A cast album already has been released.
Seven songs from the original are featured, including "Dang it, Janet" (which is a sanitized version of the original lyric).
