Glenn Shadix, known for playing interior designer Otho from Beetlejuice, died on Tuesday at his home in Birmingham, Alabama. He had lived in California for his career, but recently moved back to his hometown.
Shadix was 58 years old.
While the cause of death was not immediately known, he seemed to have fallen in the kitchen and struck his head, his sister Susan Gagne told The Birmingham News. As of late, Shadix used a wheelchair for mobility.
The funeral for Shadix is scheduled for Saturday in Birmingham.
After Beetlejuice, Shadix became close friends with director Tim Burton and got parts in his films.
The actor had a slew of roles under his belt from film and television, including roles in Planet of the Apes, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and TV shows Carnivale, Seinfeld, ER, and Sabrina, the Teenage Witch.
In 2002, the actor underwent gastric bypass surgery, resulting in him losing over one hundred pounds.
