Golden Gate Bridge Part of 747 Stunt During Fleet Week

The Golden Gate Bridge took part in San Franciscos annual Fleet Week, with a United Airlines 747 plane flying low over the bridge.

After a video of the stunt was posted on the internet, some question the decision for the stunt, reports ABC News, saying that the stunt cheapens the military air show, or conjures up memories of 9/11. Others have raised issues over the dangerous nature of the stunt.

Meanwhile, the Federal Aviation Administration said that the agency received no complaints about the flyovers, and that the stunt did not pose any real danger.

FAA spokesman Allen Kenitzer said that the aircraft was well above the span, flight restrictions were in place in the area, and that an air traffic controller was directing the planes altitude.

Kenitzer blames the videos point of view, saying that the angle from which it was shot the plane look closer to the bridge than it really was.
