Grilling Tips to Make Your Labor Day More Enjoyable

Grilling tips can be useful, especially if youre planning to use your grill for a Labor Day barbeque. Here are some tips to make your grilling experience a much more pleasant one.

  • Outdoor grills and wind dont really go well together
  • Never leave an outdoor grill unattended, especially if kids and pets are around
  • Always prepare for a fire by having a fire extinguisher or water available

When cooking beef:

  • Hamburgers should reach 160 degrees F before serving
Most cuts should be placed about 3-6 inches away from the heat
Keep at least 1/8 of fat to retain the juices so as to not have a dry piece of meat

When cooking chicken:

  • Poultry is generally safe at 160 degrees F, but it is often recommended to wait until internal temperatures reach 180 degrees
  • Coat chicken with oil to prevent it from getting too dry, or you can leave the skin on

When cooking fish:

  • Internal temperatures should reach 155 degrees F
  • Keep fresh lemon juice nearby to keep the fish from getting dry
  • Youll know fish is done if it flakes easily with a fork and opaque all the way through
