Halle Berry is “terrified for her safety” and is considering a move to France in order to escape a psychotic stalker who has threatened to kill her. According to Cover Media, Berry wants to move to France with fiancé Olivier Martinez to escape the threats of Madonna’s stalker, Robert Hoskins.
Hoskins had been serving a ten-year sentence at a mental institution when he reportedly “walked away” from authorities at the Los Angeles hospital last week. The 54-year-old had been convicted of threatening to kill Madonna in 1996. Now it is believed he’s after Berry.
“Friends are scared for her life because Robert Hoskins wants to kill her,” a source told Radar Online. “She is terrified for her safety. The LAPD told Halle that Hoskins threatened, ‘I’m going to kill that b----. I’m going to cut her throat.’”
In response to the threats, Berry put her home under 24-hour guarded security. The Los Angeles Police Department has reportedly been visiting the actress frequently, as Hoskins is believed to be traveling with a knife and gun.
As for her plans for France, Berry will learn Friday whether a family court will allow her to move abroad with her three-year-old daughter, Nahla. The star is currently involved in a bitter custody battle with her ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry, who opposes her meditated move.
Hoskins was arrested in May 1995 after he scaled the walls of Madonna’s Hollywood Hills home. He was shot after attempting to steal a security guard’s gun. Police said Hoskins claimed Madonna was his wife and that he would kill her if she didn’t accept his advances.
