A research firm says home sales rose last month in the San Francisco Bay area despite a lack of buyers for high-end properties.
DataQuick said Wednesday that more than 6,300 homes and condos sold in the nine-county region, up more than 3 percent from a year earlier. Sales slipped from October but not nearly as much the usual October-to-November swoon.
Prices fell again last month, marking the 14th straight annual decline. The median sale price was $363,500, down more than 4 percent from last year.
The San Diego-based research firm says slower sales for high-end homes contributed to the price decline.
