Jennifer Hudson was rushed to the hospital after a performance on Friday.

The singer, first known for "American Idol" and then for her role in Dreamgirls, and more recently in the news for her weight loss, was performing on ABC's "Good Morning American Summer concert Series" when she began experiencing stomach cramps and was rushed to the hospital.

"After performing on 'Good Morning America' earlier today, Jennifer Hudson went to the hospital due to severe abdominal pains. She was treated for abdominal pains and released," her representative said in a statement.

Hudson filmed her ABC appearance in Central Park's Rumsey Playfield but had to cancel a second performance slated for CBS' "Early Show."

The 29-year-old singer's new album is called "I Remember Me," and features the debut single "Where You At."
