Jerry Stackhouse Signs with Miami Heat

Jerry Stackhouse, NBA player, joined Miami club Heat on Saturday.

His move comes one day after the team it will be minus swingman Mike Miller who is out injured until possibly January.

Stackhouse, whos about to turn 36, says, This is a very exciting time in my basketball careerI am ready to compete at the highest level.

The Globe and Mail reports that Stackhouse has often mentioned he would like to join LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in Miami, to give him the best chance at winning his first NBA title.

He's a very productive player, Wade said Saturday, about an hour before Stackhouse completed the process of going through physicals and actually signing his deal.

He's a guy who's a matchup problem in the post. Also, he can stretch the floor, shoot the ball very well.

It's a good optionto be able to have the luxury of a guy like that out there that you can add to your team.
