Jessica Hahn made an appearance on The View for the shows weeks worth of guests who are known for more scandalous events.
Hahn was on the show because of her involvement with in the much publicized sex scandal involving televangelist Jim Bakker while she was employed by him as a church secretary in the 1980s.
Hahn first came to public attention when Bakker announced he was stepping down as head of PTL and Heritage USA. She said she had been drugged and raped by Bakker and fellow preacher John Wesley Fletcher when she was still a 21-year-old secretary. It wasnt until years later that Bakker denied the rape allegations and said the sex was consensual.
Walters asked Hahn, a former Playboy playmate, about her sexual relationship with Bakker. Hahn shot back, pointing out that Walters once had an affair with a married Senator. (Walters wrote in her book Audition about an affair with former Senator Edward William Brooke III.)
Walters countered, saying that Hahn was there to discuss herself, not Walterss past.
This is not about me, Walters said. This is about you.
