Jillian Michaels: Co-workers Talk Michaels Departure

Jillian Michaels announced last week that Season 11 of "The Biggest Loser" would be her last. She sat down and discuss why she's making the move, and so did her co-workers at "The Biggest Loser", Bob Harper and Alison Sweeney.


"It's just -- it's time," Jillian told Access Hollywood about her impending departure from the show. "I'm looking at the platform that I've been given, and I look at all of the things that I want to be a part of and I feel obligated to contribute."

The decision to leave The Biggest Loswer time around surrounds personal reasons.

"I want to take a year off TV and focus on becoming a mommy and doing more charity work," she Tweeted.

"Shooting Losing It also had big impact on me," she said of the series, in which she helped kids slim down. "Living with kids, I saw firsthand what I was missing."

She made her debut on episode 1 of season 1 of The Biggest Loser, in 2004. On June 1, 2010, NBC debuted a new spin-off reality series entitled Losing It With Jillian.

"I'm also 36 you know, and it's time [to start] thinking about having a family," she said. "I want to start focusing on that next year and so this is going to be it and I really hope it's a good one."

"I love Jill," Alison Sweeney, said. "She's an amazing trainer and an amazing person. I want her to be happy. I want what's best for her."

Sweeney was enthusiastic about her decision to have a baby."I think that's so awesome," Sweeney says. "She has always been so funny about my kids and I think she'd be an awesome, awesome parent. She's going to be great."Bob Harper shared his thoughts about his opposing team trainer."Jillian and I started this whole journey together and we have definitely had our highs and our lows," Bob Harper tells ET. "We will all greatly miss her, but the show must go on. What I will miss about her is definitely her passion and her drive."It has been said that audiences connect with Jillian because of her own personal struggle with weight loss is relatable. She was obese a pre-teen, weighing 175lbs with a height of only 5. Through hard work and a rigorous exercise routine she was able to overcome obesity and become the fitness brand we know today.She added to her fitness empire in June of this year, when she began to work on the spin-off show to 'Loser'; Losing it with Jillian. On the show she spends a week working with families that are struggling with wellness. At the end of the week, a new trainer works with the family an additional six weeks to see if the lessons they have learned have taken hold. So far she has plans to continue working on the show, which airs in primetime on Tuesdays on NBC.The new season of "The Biggest Loser," introducing the mystery trainers, premieres Tuesday, Jan 4 on NBC.
