Keira Knightley showed off her new hairdo at at Herr Karl Lagerfeld's Chanel Spring/Summer 2011 collection in Paris this week. Knightleypreviously wore her hair long, wavy, and bangy, but has decided to switch to a side-parted bob with soft highlights.
The starlet is getting ready for the premiere of her new film Never Let Me Go, based on the Kazuo Ishiguro's novel, which is to open this year's BFI London Film Festival, organizers said.
Mark Romanek directs the drama that stars Knightley as well as Carey Mulligan and Andrew Garfield.
The film about former boarding school pupils who confront their sheltered past is scheduled to have its European debut at the festival Oct. 13, the BBC reported.
"I think I can speak for the entire cast and crew when I say that we are deeply honored and excited to have been selected to open this year's festival," Romanek said. "For me personally, it seems the perfect way to celebrate the conclusion of an incredible film-making experience in the United Kingdom."
Knightley has received one Oscar nomination in her career for the filmed adaptation of Pride & Prejudice in 2006. She also received a Golden Globe nomination for the performance as well as her turn in 2007's Atonement. She has also won accolades at the People's Choice Awards and the Teen Choice Awards. In all, she has received 38 nominations and 17 wins.
