"Kung Fu Panda 2" Beat By "The Hangover"

"King Fu Panda 2," the animated children’s movie was passed in sales by "The Hangover Part II" at the U.S. weekend box office. The Hangover grossed $86.4 million.

According to UPI.com, Panda 2 was in second place with $48 million and "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" fell to third, grossing $39.3 million in its second week.

Gal-pal comedy "Bridesmaids" was a distant fourth with $16.3 million in its third week.

"Thor," starring Natalie Portman and Anthony Hopkins, was No. 5 with $9.3 million.

All studio estimates of gross box office receipts are via Box Office Mojo.

"Fast Five" was sixth with $6.6 million; Woody Allen's "Midnight in Paris" seventh with $1.91 million; "Jumping the Broom," eighth at $1.9 million and "Something Borrowed" was No. 9 with $1.8 million.

"Rio" was 10th with $1.7 million.
